With the continuous technology updates and the new regulatory requirements, the demand on Information Security professionals is increasing as well. Companies are expected to have related openings in Information Security that I would like to be considered for based on my experience.
I worked for Citigroup-Jordan for more than three years - since Aug, 2005 till 31st Dec 2008 - as the Business Information Security Officer & Technology Head. Despite it was only three years with Citi, this period was full with achievements. I was rewarded for my "Exceptional" performance the Citi's award for being "Initiative & Creating Impact".
Recently, I joined the Arab Bank Group as an Information Security Assistant Manager under the Group Risk Management Department – started 4th Jan 2009. This new environment presented new challenges for me where more responsibilities are assigned with the goal to raise the maturity level in this huge enterprise through an actual implementation of a practical information security program that will assist the business in achieving its goals. Working in the Head Office of an enterprise with existence in more than thirty countries is really a challenge.
Before Citi, I had more than five years of diverse technology working experience covering applications development, systems administration, networks design & implementation and database administration. More than four years of these five were in Jepco – Jordanian Electric Power Company - as an IT Specialist in the Technical Support & Planning Department. Over this period I have supervised and developed many solutions in the fields of GIS, Desktop applications and Database administration.
I worked on a part time bases over a three years period for the Integrated Academy for Information Sciences & Technology as “Training Programs” developer and instructor. Also, another one full year as a support engineer for Oracle & Java technologies was worked for ITCC – regional Oracle partner..
My information security experience is supported by widely accepted certifications (CISA, CISM). I am currently in pursuit of CISSP certification – targeting to set for the exam next Oct, 2009. Other courses and professional trainings completed include: project management, leadership development, negotiation, time management plus many other technical courses like MCSE, CCNA, Oracle DBA and Information Security.
To maintain my Certifications, I have an active ISACA membership along with active connections with professionals working in the same field. As part of the “Continues Professional Education” program, 140+ hours were achieved since June 2008 till now.
